Teaching Resources
The missdorothy.com programme for Key Stage 2 is based around Dot Com and her friends who help the teacher to deliver vital safety messages via workbooks and a website. The initiative complements SEAL and is aligned to the PSHE curriculum. It is designed to be supported in the classroom through visits from outside agencies and community role models such as police, fire services and football coaches.
Every child receives their own workbook for each of the years 3-6 and each stage has a corresponding teacher's guide, which includes detailed lesson plans. The books build on each other throughout the four years of KS2 providing a comprehensive and cohesive resource.
Children are encouraged to visit Dot's website where they can read safety tips, daily news, follow a weekly adventure story, visit the Game Zone, and even email Dot. Every email will receive a personal replay from Dot within 48 hours.
The Teachers' Guides for the learning programmes are available through the password protected area of this website.
Full lesson plans for each of the missdorothy.com children's books can be downloaded here. Please contact us for information on how to obtain a password.
